Therapy

Applications and laser treatments in the therapeutic field: herpes labialis, angular cheilitis, canker sores, TMJ therapy, leukoplakias.

The anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties of the diode laser play an important role in the treatment of various lesions of the oral cavity, such as herpes, aphthae, cheilitis, etc.

The term TMJ refers to the temporomandibular joint system. Disturbances in this area cause severe pain that often results in difficulty chewing, facial pain, abnormal neck flexion.

Laser treatment reduces the pain sensation, providing immediate relief to the patient, without the need to take anti-inflammatory drugs or painkillers.

Cheilitis is an inflammation that is usually located at the corners of the lips. The laser treatment consists of irradiating the area affected by cheilitis, while also targeting the immediately neighbouring areas. This destroys the bacteria that remain latent beneath the surface.

The aphthae is a white or greyish, roundish lesion surrounded by a reddish halo, the size of which can vary from one to ten millimetres. With laser treatment, both inflammation and pain are drastically reduced, accelerating the healing process, which occurs after about 2-4 days.

Herpes labialis is a viral disease generally caused by the herpes simplex 1 virus. Using the laser, due to its decontaminating and stimulating abilities on the tissues, accelerates the healing of the lesion and decreases the discomfort created by this disease.
